Town boss Rod Stringer told the club's website: "I'm pleased he was available to strengthen our squad.
"I've also put a seven-day approach in for a forward with a Blue Square Bet club and am confident that he will be part of our squad."
Braintree start their Blue Square Bet South campaign at home to Farnborough on Saturday.
