Tom Clarke put the promotion chasers ahead just before the half-hour mark but Dagenham equalised from the penalty spot in the 59th minute after Lee Peltier had been adjudged to have handled the ball.
Burnett thought his side should have been awarded a spot-kick prior to the one they eventually scored from when the ball struck Peltier`s hand in the second minute.
"I think everyone in the ground apart from the referee saw it. It was one of those decisions," said Burnett. "We certainly felt it was a penalty, but we've got on with it. Instances like that change games and Huddersfield are a very good team."
Burnett added: "They've come here with some very good players and played well, but we fought very hard in the second half and have come away with a point.
"They've hit the bar and the post a couple of times and they probably feel a little bit hard done by with the decision for our penalty, but that's football sometimes."
