Daggers deny Iron

Dagenham fought back from a three-goal deficit to earn a gutsy 3-3 draw against League Two leaders Scunthorpe in a storm-interrupted game in east London.

The Iron were coasting after goals from Sam Winnall, Deon Burton and substitute Paul Hayes but Abu Ogogo's strike gave the Daggers hope before Chris Dickson and Luke Norris both climbed off the bench and got on the scoresheet to rescue the hosts an unlikely point.

Scunthorpe were good value for their single-goal lead at half-time. They opened the scoring after 18 minutes when in-form striker Winnall slid to convert Eddie Nolan's cross to register his 14th goal of the season.

The visitors almost went two goals ahead shortly before the break but goalkeeper Chris Lewington was agile in keeping out Niall Canavan's header from point-blank range.

The Iron did edge further in front after 56 minutes thanks to a goal from veteran forward Burton in what was his 600th career appearance. Burton saw his initial effort strike the post but he pounced on the rebound, drilling the ball low beneath Lewington.

Hayes struck Scunthorpe's third after 61 minutes, just a couple of minutes after replacing the injured Burton. He latched on to Winnall's throughball before slotting a shot neatly into the corner of the net.

Ogogo and Dickson struck for Dagenham before the storm halted play temporarily, then Norris drilled home to even it up a minute from time.
