Green told BBC Essex: "I needed that goal. I've needed the goal for a while. I'm really happy with it."
Saturday's strike was a fifth goal of the season for the former Bishop Stortford player who joined Dagenham & Redbridge last summer.
He said: "I had a one-on-one. I just knocked it about my feet and put it in the bottom corner. It was alright. It was a good goal."
Green is happy with his form since moving from non-league football to the professional game at Victoria Road.
"I started brilliantly," he said. "I came here thinking maybe I wasn't going to play sometimes. So to start every game, play every game and score five goals already, I've done well".
Saturday's win moved Dagenham & Redbridge back into League Two's promotion places.
