Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade has admitted his excitement about the first ever league match between the O's and Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.Slade, whose side have won their last two matches, including a 2-0 defeat of Brighton on Wednesday, feels the derby brings positives on and off the pitch.

"Its exciting, it really is an exciting time for both football clubs," he said.

"It's great for the area, and a great game for the players to play in - it's always nice to beat your neighbours."

The two sides have met only five times in their history, all in cup competitions, and Slade feels this will help create a vociferous atmosphere at Victoria Road.

"I don't think it will be too friendly! I think it could be quite lively to be honest, and I hope it is," he said.

"Derbies are great games to play in and great games for me and for my staff. We look forward to the atmosphere, it adds to the spice of the game."
