Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still said his side's promotion to League One was like a "fairy story" after their 3-2 play-off success against Rotherham.Still hailed the work ethic of everyone at the club after the Daggers finished seventh in League Two this season.
"It's down to everybody working really hard. It is amazing what can be achieved when no one is looking to take the credit," said Still.
"For this club it's a fairy story and we have turned another page."
The Daggers, founded in 1992 via numerous mergers, were promoted from the Conference in 2007.
And Dagenham's 40-year-old goalkeeper Tony Roberts has been with the club for 10 years, throughout their rise from the Conference to League One.
"We are a pub team from Essex but look at us now," joked Roberts.
"I can't believe it, I'm 40-years-old and I have won at Wembley.

"This club is going places. Years ago we were playing Charlton trying to knock them out of the FA Cup as a non-league team, next year we are going to play Charlton in the league, I can't believe it."
Team-mate Danny Green made the step up to the Football League from Blue Square South side Bishop's Stortford at the start of the season and the midfielder was overjoyed.
"It is the best feeling in my life," exclaimed Green.
"To think a year ago I might not even have been playing football, to come back and play my first season in the Football League and to play at Wembley is a dream come true, it's unbelievable.
"I was at Bishop's Stortford last year but John Still picked me up and gave me this opportunity so I owe everything to him and my family."
Meanwhile, Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore was left fuming with the defensive lapses that cost his side.
"It's a horrible feeling but if you defend like we have you're not going to win," said Moore.
"Overall as individual players we have done well but it was individual errors at the back we got punished for.
"We should've gone up but we're still here.
"We have players out of contract so we have got to do it all over again. We have let ourselves down a bit at the final hour.
"Hopefully we'll bring in some players that will defend an awful lot better than we have done."
