Still upbeat despite defeat

The Daggers were dogged in defence but Still felt the team failed to show enough quality in the final third.

"We battled hard but I thought our final-third play was not good enough," he said. "I thought it was edging for a draw, but to be fair both teams played to win. We tried to get the three points but it went against us.

"It's no good settling for a point at the moment, we've got to keep battling for three points and sometimes you may lose trying to do it. We expected Walsall to have the lion's share of the game but we defended terrifically and I thought a chance would come up for us.

"It's disappointing, but disappointment is part of football. We have been scoring goals but in this game we couldn't find one. With 20 minutes to go I was thinking that if one team scored it would win the game.

"We are a hard-working non-stop team and we know how difficult it's going to be for us, but we are just going to get on with it. I can see any team getting out of trouble if they can go on a run of four or five games winning."
