Christian Doidge nets brace as Dagenham stroll to victory
Dagenham & Redbridge gave their fans some rare home cheer with a 3-0 Sky Bet League Two victory over Crawley Town as Christian Doidge scored twice.
In a first half of very few chances, Ollie Muldoon saw an effort from just inside the area deflected into the arms of Reds keeper Callum Preston.
At the other end, the best chance fell to Lee Barnard in the 36th minute, but the Crawley striker's close-range volley was brilliantly pushed behind by Mark Cousins.
But it didn't take long for a breakthrough in the second half, with Doidge scoring in the 51st minute from 18 yards after a one-two with Jamie Cureton.
Doidge was soon at the double, netting a second in the 54th minute with a long-range half volley.
The win was sealed in the 80th minute when Ashley Hemmings showed great pace to finish off a counter attack from close range.
The result also lifted Daggers off the bottom, leap-frogging York City, but both teams have already been relegated.
