This was a real pressure cooker game for both teams on display.
Dagenham & Redbridge were desperate for the points to get their season back on track and Farnborough were looking to move of the bottom of the table.
Dagenham introduced loan signing from Doncaster, Robert Gill, and permanent fixture Tristram Whitman, also from Rovers.
The opening exchanges saw the Daggers making all the running but just failing to make any purchase on the final ball.
Keeper Tony Roberts was called into action when Richard Hodgson bore down on goal and got down well to parry his fierce effort into the path of Tarkan Mustafa, who cleared the ball away from danger.
Alan Kimble came close to breaking the deadlock when his rasping free-kick from 30 yards out skimmed the crossbar.
But the Daggers didn't have to wait long as minutes later Steve Watts opened his account as a fully-fledged Dagger, after a brief loan spell last year.
Kimble whipped the ball in for Watts to head home after Boro keeper Mark Osborn had come rushing off his line.
Kimble started the second half as he ended the first with a dipping free-kick which was well held by Osborn.
Farnborough were beginning to show why they are in the position they are in as they failed to make any impression.
At the other end Ashley Vickers went close for the Daggers, but once again Osborn kept the scoreline respectable.
Mark Bentley was the next to sting Osborn's hands with a fierce shot from the edge of the box as the Daggers looked to increase their lead.
By no means was this the tidiest of games, but it was job done as Garry Hill's men started their month of playing the teams in the bottom half of the table.
