Dagenham & Redbridge equalled the Conference record of ten wins on the trot as they overcame a combative Margate side at Victoria Road.
Two late goals finally secured the win and Gate had little answer to the home side's finishing power in the end.
Their cause was not helped when captain Iain O'Connell collided with keeper Phil Smith in the sixth minute and received a suspected fractured skull.
The game remained closely fought with little in the way of goalmouth action, Junior McDougald came closest early on when in the 20th minute he teased defender Jake Leberl before cutting inside and curling a shot which looped off the defender and just over the crossbar.
That was the best on offer until the 31st minute when a Margate indirect free-kick deflected to Greg Oates, who struck the outside of the post with a fierce shot.
The match needed a moment of insiration and it was provided by Danny Hill, he controlled the ball on the right-hand side of the area before calmly stroking home a sublime shot with the outside of his foot which curled into the far corner beyond the reach of Smith.
The second half saw Margate enjoy more of the ball but they provided little threat and they only looked like scoring when Daggers failed to clear the ball on two occasions and Terry McFlynn's long shot bobbled in front of Tony Roberts, but the keeper held on to the ball.
The Daggers were more clinical in front of goal and sealed the win when sub Mark Janney went on a mazy run before curling a left-foot shot which took a slight deflection on its way into the far corner with 13 minutes remaining.
With four minutes left, sub Steve West smashed Danny Shipp's low cross into the net to make it ten out of ten for the Daggers and boss Garry Hill described it as a tremendous achievement.
