Substitute Darren Mansaram again proved a point to boss Chris Wilder by scoring twice and setting up the other to help Haliax Town win their sixth straight home win.

Mansaram feared his career at The Shay was over after Wilder sent him on loan to Tamworth and York, and then gave a one-month ultimatum and show his worth to his club.

Ex-Grimsby frontman Mansaram, stung by the criticism levelled at him for a string of poor performances, has roared back to form.

|He scored twice in the 6-1 LDV Vans Trophy rout of League Two outfit Bury last month and hit another double today.

The opener against a Daggers side missing top scorers Tresor Kandol, who has just been sent on loan to Darlington, and the suspended Chris Moore, was a diving header netted after 71 minutes from a Steve Haslam teasing cross.

Mansaram's second came in stoppage-time when he drove a low shot past the keeper Tony Roberts from the edge of the box after latching on to Haslam's pass.

In between, Mansaram darted on to Adam Quinn's powerful headed clearance out of defence and played substitute Lewis Killeen in for a close-range tap-in.

The home side dominated throughout and had missed a stack of chances before Mansaram entered the contest on 60 minutes. The biggest culprit was striker John Grant, who wasted a penalty awarded after 42 minutes by tamely nudging his spot-kick towards Tony Roberts.

The visitors had only one shot on target in the entire game. Their best effort came late on when a free-kick curled in by Anwar Uddin clipped the top of the cross-bar.
