Iyseden Christie helped himself to two goals as revitalised Kidderminster Harriers condemned Dagenham to a fourth successive defeat with a 3-1 win at Aggborough.

Kidderminster had banked only two points from the previous 18, but their leading marksman earned them their first win in seven outings and took his season's tally to 10.

To be frank, the Daggers were made to look a poor outfit by a home team brimming with youthful exuberance.

Harriers shrugged off the loss of experienced defenders Mark Jackson and Daryl Burgess, through suspension, and player-coach Martin O'Conner through injury, and turned in a bubbly display.

Manager Stuart Watkiss gave debuts to teenagers Patrick Flynn and Gavin Hurren, who were outstanding at the back.

Another teenager, Marc Pugh, also produced his best display since signing on loan from Burnley, scoring one and creating another.

His cheeky footwork set up the opening goal in the 41st minute, Christie bundling the ball home from close range after the youngster had cleverly flicked it over his marker to set up the chance.

In first half stoppage time Pugh showed great awareness to steer home a header past keeper Tony Roberts after Terry Fleming had picked him out with a pin-point cross.

Sorry Dagenham had paid the price for some poor work in front of goal in the first half. Lee Goodwin twice missed the target with free headers and Chris Moore saw home keeper Daniel Lewis make an excellent save when he had run completely clear.

Lewis again excelled by making a fine stop from sub Paul Benson as the visitors enjoyed their best spell early in the second half.

But Harriers stretched their lead on 66 minutes when Wayne Hatswell crossed for Christie to score with a flashing header on the run.

Nine minutes from time Glen Southam fired Dagenham's consolation with a sweet angled drive from 20 yards.
