Morecambe made it six wins from seven games at Christie Park with this victory over Dagenham.
After two successive 1-0 away defeats, the Shrimps enjoyed a welcome return to form against a Dagenham side who had plenty of possession but showed little spark up front.
They also didn't have a great deal of luck after Morecambe took the lead in the sixth minute with a bizarre own goal.
Michael Twiss looked to play in Sean O'Connor down the middle but the ball was cut out by Chris Moore who could only look on in horror as the ball sailed past the wrong-footed Tony Roberts from the edge of the area.
That proved to be a rare clear chance in a first half which saw the defenders generally on top with some vital clearances at both ends.
For Dagenham, Anwar Uddin was the hero in the 12th minute when he stretched to clear Kieron Walmsley's right-wing cross for a corner with O'Connor and Twiss lurking dangerously behind him.
Shane Blackett and Scott Griffiths both then did well to clear threatening crosses from Michael Howard before the Daggers began to cause the Morecambe defence some problems of their own.
Tresor Kandol wasted a golden chance to equalise on 29 minutes. He looked offside but the flag stayed down and with no defenders in sight he somehow missed the target from three yards out.
After a dull period the Daggers came close again on the stroke of half time when Lee Goodwin rose well to head Glenn Southam's right-wing corner inches wide of the right hand post.
The away side also enjoyed a bright start to the second period with Paul Benson wasting a good chance from Kandol's clever flick and Moore failing to get a strong connection from a header when he was free on goal six yards out.
Southam had a shot beaten away and Ryan Robinson saved neatly from Kandol before the Shrimps scored a vital second on 75 minutes.
Morecambe's star man David Perkins was the creator with a strong run down the left which ended with a cross to the far post where Wayne Curtis was on hand to slam home the loose ball for his fifth goal of the season.
