Oldham 1-1 Dag Red- Report

Top scorer Romain Vincelot earned bottom of the table Dagenham a valuable 1-1 draw at Oldham

Vincelot seized on some poor Oldham defending to equalise 20 minutes from time and the Daggers held out despite a late red card for Peter Gain.

Dale Stephens had put the Latics in front but Paul Dickov's side were unable to hold on for all three points.

Jon Nurse sent an early chance wide for Dagenham, but Oldham should have gone in front when Chris Taylor headed over from close range. The miss was almost punished by Nurse, whose crisp volley at the far post was well saved by Oldham goalkeeper Ben Amos.

Oldham's breakthrough came five minutes after half-time as Taylor darted down the left and squared for Stephens to drill in a first time shot from 12 yards out.

Only fine goalkeeping by Tony Roberts prevented Dagenham going further behind soon after, the veteran denying Taylor and Filipe Morais.

Taylor wasted another good opening but Dagenham drew level as the home side failed to deal with a right wing throw-in and Vincelot headed home from eight yards.

The visitors went down to 10 men in stoppage time when Gain received a straight red card for his challenge on Oumare Tounkara.
